Biodiesel is becoming increasingly available at retail locations around the country. In fact, biodiesel has become America’s fastest growing alternative fuel according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Production tripled in 2005 to 75 million gallons, up from 25 million gallons in 2004. And according to the National Biodiesel Board (NBB), the industry produced over 250 million gallons in 2006. By increasing biodiesel availability, we can help to rapidly increase biodiesel consumption – which is good for the economy and the environment.

The Richfield station opened with B20 and received an enthusiastic showing from local Twin Cities biodiesel users who filled up and requested B99. There were Mercedes owners, TDIers, semi-trucks, and small businesses who found their way through the traffic this weekend to come in and fill up. Tim is very excited to see the support for biodiesel and with your continued patronage he will order a higher blend soon.

Northfield opened the B99 season on Friday with a lot of support from the local business and a great showing from the Northfield Biodiesel Buyers Coop. A special thanks goes out to Peace Coffee, Just Foods Coop, and Brick Oven Bakery for donating time and snacks for the Kick Off. We had KYMN call and do a short interview at noon to spread the word. Jim was happy to see the support come in and and looks forward to increasing the use of high blend biodiesel in the Northfield area.
